I thought I'd add another page to the website so I can put down some thoughts about my meager operation. Given the electronic social experience is taking place I'll occasionally share my experiences on this page. My goal is how to keep a small farm small in this day and age. If anybody has looked at the countryside, big, no, huge is the trend. Being a large operation has many economic advantages (scale of economy, affordability of automation, etc).

Another year, another new beginning. New hopes for success this year. I want to get me video camera so I can record my successes or failures. We'll see.....I've got lots of work to do to get ready for this growing season. I do have some experiments I want to do with cold frames. I'm sure it's not going to be all what I imagine as far as success goes. The challenge of growing something here in Michigan during the dead of winter is tough. Cost and economy are very much a concern. I'll track everything I do to build a cold frame and different designs of cold frames. It might be cheaper to buy my vegetables from the local grocery (Damn how do they do that?).
